The new look of Peachtree Ridge FBLA

Exactly a year ago on this day, I announced the creation of a new website for Peachtree Ridge High School's FBLA chapter as a source of basic information on our chapter, as well as "the envy of other Georgia FBLA chapters". While it did provide useful information and notifications of meetings and events, it was also more geared towards being flashy and showy, which resulted in a cluttered website, a discordant color scheme of royal blue and red, and some unnecessary and redundant information. This format also provided for a very dysfunctional mobile version, which provided about 10-20% of views of our website. To solve some of these issues, I decided to redesign the basic format of the website, to provide a cleaner build, more useful information, and a more palatable experience while accessing the site, which will use the same URL as the old site.
Here's some of the changes that have already been executed.
- new color scheme (navy blue and gold), font, and format (now centered around homepage)
- the blog is back!
- separate pages are now themed around specific categories (will be more evident once the 2016-17 school year and FBLA season begins)
- some subpages from the old website have been transferred
Here's what to expect in the future:
- an improved gallery
- more up to date Hall of Fame
- the new Project Anaheim, our competitive events program, will start helping you succeed in competitive events in the upcoming FBLA season!
- return of visit count, updated calendar, and the Member's Section (we will likely be assigning member accounts to every registered and paid member this time)
- MEMBERSforMEMBERS (MfM) will return, but is still geared towards submissions from 2016, and will be updated for 2016-17 (hopefully with a submission link!) by the end of first semester.
- a more interactive experience (mobile-friendly, more content geared towards members, Spotify playlist?)
If you have any suggestions or comments, feel free to email the chapter at fblalions@gmail.com, or use the contact form conveniently located at the bottom of the homepage, but please refrain from spamming us unnecessarily.
Thank you for visiting our website, and I hope you enjoy the new look of the hub of Peachtree Ridge FBLA!
